Why I've been quiet

On Friday afternoon, we received some scary news from Lauren and Josh, my SIL and BIL (Brian's sister). Lauren is 30 weeks pregnant, and they found that Baby Holt has a problem with his heart. His condition is called critical aortic valve stenosis. This means that his aortic valve is so narrowed that the heart cannot pump enough blood to nourish his body. Holt's specific condition only occurs in .33% of births. At this point, the specialists have given him a 50% chance of survival. While his condition might be treatable through surgery, he could also have permanent damage to his heart.

This little guy has commanded the attention of countless pediatric cardiologists and other neonatal specialists. He's being monitored and noticed by many expert eyes. Isn't he sweet?

So that the doctors can keep a constant watch on little Holt, Lauren will be in the hospital until she delivers, which will hopefully be on or around July 18th. Right now, he is loving life inside his mommy's womb, and his heartbeat is strong and he looks healthy, other than his heart.

Lauren has decided to chronicle this journey through a blog. You can access it here.

Would you pray for this sweet family? Pray in faith for Holt's healing. We KNOW God is an Awesome Healer! Pray for God to work out the variables involved in Lauren being hospitalized for 2 months 2 hours away from home. Pray for financial provision as the medical/travel expenses accumulate. Pray that the Lord would keep them in perfect peace.

Pray for safe travel for all of us. We are rotating in and out to stay with Lauren. I'm on deck right now.  What a privilege!

Trust in the Lord with all of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
