A Blessed Life

You know, I think that we're often inclined to think that our world is full of arrogant, entitled, self-serving people. We think that we're in a world full of sin and filth, and there is no good thing left on the earth. Or, at least that's the message that I often hear.

But, today I beg to differ. Today, I am moved to tears when I stop and consider the love and generosity and selfless sacrifice of our community. The city in which we live is pretty large, about 100,000 people, I think. But, our community is much smaller. Our community consists of those around me who are faithful in prayer and support. And now, our community truly went above and beyond to meet our needs.

This past Saturday, a benefit concert was held for Brian and me. It was called Chick in the Park. It was a family carnival with live music, bounce houses, face painting, balloon art, and Chic-fil-a But it was so much more than that. It was a day of celebration of what God is able to accomplish through His people for His purposes. It was a day of the family of God coming together to bear the burdens of another. It was a day of blessing. Immense blessing.

If you're reading this and you helped in anyway, please know that my heart is overwhelmed by you and your extreme care for us. We love you. We love Jesus in you. Thank you.
