Good Afternoon, Sweet Things!

I don't know how things are going in your neck of the wooods, but it is COLD in mine! And, I don't mean cool, I mean frigid! In fact, even after the car had been heating for 10 minutes this morning, we still shivered when we got in it! It's one of those days when you just want to retreat indoors and cozy up for a day of reading by the fire.

But, alas, things must get done. Appointments continue, regardless of the weather. Life goes on, apart from the forecast.

The electricity company is doing rolling power outtages across the community today. They are short on electricity, so they are purposefully cutting power for 10-45 minutes in each pocket of the city, several times today. Weird, huh? I don't recall that ever happening before.

Anyway, I had some work to do on my computer this morning. And, each time I'd get up and going and almost finished, the power would go out, again!!! Then, there I'd sit, in a dark room with a dark computer screen. Frustrating!

But then, God said, "This is how you can think about the spiritual world. When we get to comfy, working along, taking God's power and presence for granted, Satan comes in and invades our lives with His darkness." I was instantly convicted by complacency.

I want to have a life where I am constantly on the lookout for God's power. I don't want to be caught, taking God's presence for granted, only to be accosted by the darkness of Satan. So, that's my challenge to myself today, and to you. May we always be rejoicing in the power of Christ, so that we aren't offended by the presence of Satan. Be on the lookout for the evil one, y'all. He's lurking where we least expect it.

We've had the power outages in the Austin area too. Apparently there's too much power being used. Tracing without electricity is not easy. I told the kids we could pretend to be Amish but they didn't know who the Amish were. Then they didn't believe that anyone would live w/o tv, video games, etc. It really made me think of how we are too dependent on all this stuff and how often we let it drown out God's voice. Stay warm.

Okay that should say teaching not tracing. iPhones like to change words.

That's good insight you were given. So important to be constantly on guard as we fight the good fight.
I hope you and Brian are staying warm out there and I prayed for you today that this reaction (if not already) will be completely gone and the Lord will restore you to complete health.
Have a great weekend Lindsey.

I think God's using you to speak to me, as well. What you said about getting comfy and then Satan destroying it is really ringing in my ears. Thank you for the eye opener!
