Puttin' Feelers Out

Well, folks, as you can imagine, Brian and I have been discussing all sorts of options for our new lifestyle, which keeps me from driving. One of the biggest issues in our life right now is that I can't drive myself for at least 6 months to a year. Obviously, we weren't planning on this setback when we purchased a home that is 30 minutes outside of town. And, we weren't planning on this setback when we purchased 2 vehicles in the last couple of years. So, now we've just been praying for God to work out the details of all of this stuff. We know we can't do it without Him. We can't afford it, and we just can't do the logistics without His help. After several days of talking and praying that God would be in the details, we feel led to ask for specific prayers in these matters.

First, pray for God to sell our house. We haven't listed it with a realtor. In fact, we just made the final decision to try to sell it only minutes ago. Honestly, since we've only lived there for just over a year, it would be hard for us to recoup the cost of a realtor commission. So, first I thought I'd just tell my blog readers that we're trying to sell our house, so that we can move into town. That would allow people to help us, and we need help this time. We've always done pretty well at working out the details on our own in the past, but this time we're going to need help. So, that's item number one. We need a buyer for our house. It's about 2200 sqft, and we need to sell it for somewhere between $190,000-200,000. It sits on a big lot, has 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a big great room, and fully walled courtyard. So, if you know anyone interested, let me know. Here are some pictures and here.

The next major thing that we need some relief from is our car situation. We have 2 cars with 2 car payments, and we need to either sell one or both of them in order to have one cheaper overall payment. We have a 2010 Toyota Tundra and a 2010 Toyota Avalon. Brian's driven the tail off of both of them as he commuted to work the last 2 years, so they're virtually valueless. Again, we need a miracle.

Thank you for allowing me to be frank about our very real needs. Again, we trust God with the details. He's got this under control. And, we just want to make sure that we are willing to surrender and submit everything we have to His use.

Thanks for helping me put feelers out, and please let me know if you learn of anyone interested in a house or car. This is really a humbling thing for me. I never thought that along with the blessing of Brian's new job, we'd be facing such enormous financial setback for the third consecutive year. I'm so glad that the Lord is in charge of providing for me. He does it perfectly every single time.

I know it's just material things, but my heart sank when I read you are selling your house. I'm so sorry you guys are going through all of this. It truly amazes me how you remain so strong, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. I'm praying for you, Brian and each prayer request.

I'm also sorry that you have to sell your home, but I know that you know that no matter what God will care for you and provide for you. I will pray for a buyer to come along soon and for an answer to your car issues.

"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose."
Romans 8:27-29

I am looking forward to the day I come on the blog and I read the words you've written about God's complete provision in every area you are needing.
I am excited for you, Brian and your doggies to have a new start in a new place. You will take with you treasured memories from this house you've been in this past year... many wonderful times in your courtyard emersed in the Word. Having said that, with each and every trial you are walking through, you are becoming even more intimately connected with our Savior and that closeness certainly isn't limited to a physical "place." In fact, it will only be more evident wherever you end up because you will have that much more to look back and marvel as you say "look what our Lord has done."
Try to remember that dear friend when your emotions tell you otherwise.

Dearest Lindsey and Brian - I came to know you through Whitney's blog. You have been an inspiration to me by the strength you have in your faith. I'm a Grandma who lives in the flat lands of central Illinois - Nothing in common with you except positive faith that the Lord is leading you to where he wants you to be. I will continue to pray the prayer that never fails...'thy will be done'. Loving on you from afar.

Lindsey and Brian, As I write this my heart aches for you, but rejoices too, knowing you are submitting yourself to what God is directing you to in this season.

I want to share with you what the Lord has been laying on my heart the last few days. I have been given an opportunity to sell my painted items at a ladies luncheon where the sole requirement was to give a portion of what we make to a "charity" we want to support. I say "charity" because it was loosely termed to be wherever we felt the Lord was leading to give...I believe for me-the Lord is leading to give, to you all. It may not be much, but God truly is in control of that, so it will hopefully meet a need He knows of. Wondering how I might get it to you, maybe you would prefer it to go through your church?

I love ya darlin' sister and brother with Christ's love, which knows no bounds! You are amazing in your faith and He is undoubtedly well pleased. Many blessings, Victoria
