I don't know about you, but I'm loving the cool weather that's entered the scene these days! I'm cozied up in front of the computer, with a sizable portion of skillet apple pie (gluten-free, naturally sweetened, of course!) on the table beside me and the warmth of the fire rising to the computer landing. That makes for a perfect evening!
It's been a wonderful weekend. I took the day off on Friday to fly to Midland for my sister-in-law's baby shower. Baby William Brian will be entering the picture in a few short weeks. Yes, he's named after my husband (his uncle), Brian. Isn't that precious? My heart swells with pride each time I think about it.
The weekend was full of everything baby, from shopping for a shower outfit, to attending a baby shower, to sorting baby gifts, to returning baby gifts, organizing the nursery, washing/drying/folding baby clothes, assembling the changing table. You name it, we did it! It was a wonderful experience to help Erin and Joe prepare for Liam's (William Brian will be called Liam) arrival.
The best part about the weekend was just sitting back and praising God for His joy in my heart. I know that, without God's hand on me, I wouldn't have it in me to share in Erin's joy. Truly, it defies all logic, and that's how I know that it can only be the work of a Holy God. I know I've discussed this before on my blog, but I just praise God for His ability to be totally, completely, 100% peaceful and joyful about the fact that this old girl's body can't bear children. I was able to share in Erin's excitement without any of my own jealousy or resentment. That's God, that's not Lindsey.
