A Little of This and a Little of That

Good Evening, Friends!
I hope that each one of you has enjoyed a weekend of rest and relaxation. After all, isn't that what weekends are for?

Well, my heart is mourning the loss of summer this evening, but such is the life of a teacher. I guess I should just consider myself lucky to have some extended time off to refresh. I don't know, for the life of me, how people work the whole year through. My hat's off to you!

I'm headed back to work in the morning. The kiddos aren't coming yet. They still have another week off, but the teachers will return tomorrow. It's always fun to see all of my friends and catch up with everyone, so I'm sure that the day will be enjoyable.

And now, some more pics from Destin. I took gobs of pictures while we were there. Well, a few hundred, I think. Don't worry, I won't be sharing all of them :)

Awwwwww, that water just begs you to jump in it!

Dad and Carol watch a video on the iPhone. Those gadgets have really changed vacation, haven't they? :)

A storm's a brewin'!

Mattie (Chelsey's BFF), Chelsey (my sister), and me at Poppy's at Baytowne Wharf. Dockside Dining at its best!

Aren't these things crazy? They were like huge hamster balls on water. So weird.

Yes, we partook of the touristy stuff. We created a green screen music video. It took quite a bit of persuasion to get me and Dad to participate, but we acquiesced in the name of good ole fun.
This candy shop has the BEST saltwater taffy. My diet has really impacted my vacation dining experiences. No more candy and ice cream shops for me :(. But, I did take some taffy to Brian.

And, here I am in an enormous chair. Wish Brian had been there, too.

Have a good week, everyone!

Wow, I had no idea that Destin Florida's water looked that way. Beautiful! Hope you have a great day catching up with your friends at work and getting prepared for school next week. And yes, I agree with the comment above... the children are blessed to have you as their teacher!

Okay, I've GOT to know how to do that gerbil-ball thing. Is it a certain place in Destin that you go to to do that? It is now on my bucket list.
