Q & A

Hello, all!

Over the last few months, I've received various emails or comments asking me questions about my life, treatment, dogs, work, our house, my family, etc.

And, I love it when people ask me questions. It shows that they are interested. However, I'm horrible at remembering to answer all of these questions. So, here's a little idea that I had, in order to make good on my commitment to reply. Ask away in the comments today, and I will do a reply post for Monday. Even if you've asked it before, my fuzzy brain probably doesn't remember it. You may ask anything. If I find it too personal, rest assured that I just won't answer it.

First, if you are reading this, will you please leave a comment, even if it just says, "Hi." I want to be able to know who in the world Google Ananlytics is reporting to me. It's very simple to leave a comment.

1. Scroll down to the bottom of the post.

2. See where it says "3 comments" (it will likely have a different number). Click on that.

3. Welcome to the comment screen.

4. Ask your question in the box on the right side.

5. Click the appropriate bullet. If you don't have a blog, click "Name/URL".

Wasn't that simple?

I can't wait to know who is in my circle. For one, this will allow me to join in your circles. And, for another, it will allow me to pray for those who are in mine.

Happy asking!

I work with your brother-in-law Brian. You have inspired me to eat all natural. My family has a history of cancer, and I love the idea of prevention rather than just detection. I am praying for you and Brian. Thanks for blogging!

Hi! I found you through the blog of a friend. Your strong faith in the middle of such an enormous trial is inspiring. I am also interested in the diet changes you have made to prevent cancer. From what you have posted in the past, it seems like your diet is very similar to what my husband and I eat. We started making changes slowly about three years ago to help my husband lose weight. We did a lot of research on different ingredients and foods and saw a lot of links to cancer, diabetes and heart disease. Now our diet is very "clean" and my husband lost 50 lbs!

Hi! I found your blog when Whitney asked for prayer for a girl from OBU and I realized I remembered who you were, though we ran in different circles! I have a blog too, but haven't had the internet in a while, so it hasn't been updated lately...
I love your outlook, and insight. Keep it up!

Hi Lindsey, I have been following your blog for awhile and pray for you often! I go to Green Acres, sing in the choir, and know your in-laws, but also know you through your sweet sister, Ashley. I met her through Dr. Barret's office. He is our pediatrician. And I'm the oldest sister of Chad and Josh Gentry and Kristin Skaggs. So... lots of mutual friends! :-) It's always a blessing to read your blog. I will continue to pray for you.

Just for fun...
What do you and Brian do for "date nights"?

and

Have you found some specific restaurants that allow you to go out but stick as close as possible to your eating plan?

I love Q & A's :)

Praying for a relaxing weekend for you and the hubs!

Lindsey,
I found your blog through "and baby makes three" and have been so encouraged by your faith in the Lord. You and I are the same age, share the same wedding anniversary and I too have recently had my ovaries taken out. The Lord prepared me for the last few months of my life by sending me to your blog. I have read it from start to finish and eagerly await a new post.

I have too have a question for you:

Do you have any fun summer plans? (other than relaxing of course!)

Alabamamom said...

I hope that you have a great weekend.

My question is:
What is the name of the website that you have written devotions for?

Rachel said...

I heard about you while reading the blog of a childhood friend. Just want you to know that I read your updates & pray for you often.

My question is:
Can you give some tips on prevention?

God Bless!

I ran across your blog through someone I knows blog (I live in Oklahoma). I've been reading and praying and oftentimes leave anonymous comments :)
I'd like to know in what way you're life has changed for the better since your first diagnosis (if it has, of course).
Also- I'm interested in your diet, in general. You look stinking amazing in all your photos- I'd love to look so healthy and vibrant! Recipes or pointers?

Okay, if I had a question, it would be 'How are you and Brian doing- relationship wise- after all of the struggles you've been through during the first couple of years of marriage?' Most couples don't deal with what you've dealt with over a LIFETIME together, and you've faced so much! How do you guys 'cope'?

Hey Pretty Lady- Your one of only three blogs that I read every day without fail. You are a total inspiration to me and my family and we, along with our entire small group, have been praying for you daily. I remember a long talk on one of our choir trips in h.s. and you said something along the lines of "wow, I never would have known all of that about you" and I always thought I'm glad I shared and now I am so glad that you share, everyday! Thank you!

Many prayers - you are the healed of the Lord! Beth

Good Evening! I honestly can't remember how I stumbled onto your blog, but it has become one of my favorites. You are amazing! I try to always take the time to pray for you when I am finished reading your blog. Oh how you have challenged me... I am an oncology nurse. I knew when I was 6 I would be a nurse and I knew when I was 16 I would be an Oncology Nurse. So, for me it is nice reading your blog to get a perspective on how it feels to be one of our patients. It helps me serve my patients better and for that I thank you.
Keep running your race! May God richly bless you and your husband and may you prosper and be in good health.

You know I'm reading :)

I was going to ask about your supplements, but I see you already answered that. Do you do smoothies or anything to help you eat all the veggies and fruits? Or just the juicing? And where do you buy your produce? Have you found a CSA or anything (I would love to find one here!)?

Julie-CA said...

I know you shared the other day about where you're heart is at right now as far as being a Momma, but I was just wondering what you and Brian think about adopting oneday? It just came to mind as I was reading your Mother's day post. Also, what treatments is it that your insurance is not wanting to cover and how is that process going? Ummm...okay one more =) (this is fun because it will feel like I get to actually talk to you and you seem like someone I would absolutely, truly love to spend the day talking with!)... what are some really inspiring spiritual growth type books you've read that you recommend? If you haven't read Elizabth George's "A Woman's High Calling" I recommend it a million times over! I have had it forever it seems and read it over and over and over. I also read her Proverbs 31 book often too. I think you would really enjoy these (the first especially) during your relaxing days of summer in your backyard oasis. =)
Have a WONDERFUL weekend!

I have been following your blog for several months, Lindsey, as I searched for specific ways to lift you in prayer and have always just left comments as anonymous. I have been blessed over and over again as I read how you follow God's lead and constantly give Him the glory for all that comes your way. May God continue to bless you and Brian and thank you for blessing the countless number of people that you reach through this blog and your honestly before our Lord.

Love you in His name,

Greetings from West Virginia, I am unsure how I found your blog but I have been reading for over a year. I normally don't like reading blogs with such a spirtual message to them, but I feel like your words come from your heart. I myself am unsure if I believe in God. I hope that does not bother you...

I am just amazed at your strenght.

My question is: Do you have to have faith for prayer to work? Sometimes I pray for your but since I have little (or no) faith are those prayers helpful?

Hey Warrior Sister! Lessee...I first learned about you from the newspaper articles for our last year's Komen Race and through my husband who is a TISD counselor. Then saw the "Praying for Lindsey Pond" fanpage on Facebook - that's where I saw we have a mutual friend, Courtney! and where I saw your blogspot. It was God that brought us together to meet that day at THO - truly believe that!

Your blog is the only one I read faithfully and fully. I sometimes have to catch up a day or two, but I purpose to pray for you every day. BIG HUGZ

I skimmed through the comments to see if there were any "topics of suggestion" that might prompt some more questions in me and since there are hardly any questions asked, I don't feel bad asking a couple more. =)
1. What denomination church do you and Brian attend and why do you two chose there over others?
2. When did you come to know Christ and what is the story behind your conversion?
3. To someone who is lost, how would you explain the gospel to them?
Looking forward to hearing your answers! =)

Lindsey, I don't know exactly why God led me to your blog-through a blog-through another blog...God just works that way sometimes. What I do know is He has used you to speak so simply yet profoundly into my life that it just puts me in awe of how He loves us. I pray for you on a daily basis, believing He has already healed you. He has asked you to walk out your healing, and I am blessed to witness it through your blog. I have seen humility, faith, joy, truth, and peace shine through you in your journey. I know I am not the only one encouraged by you.

I am from Rochester, NY at a little bible school that husby works at.

I do have a question or two actually. How did you come to know the Lord? Do you have a church family standing with you?

We have a great church fam and I just wondered if you are plugged in to a support that way.
Blessings, Vic

Lindsey,
Found your blog through Kathryn Bilberry's. I was drawn to your story when she blogged about you. I have handled the struggles in my life in a less than desirable way and through their troubles with their little girl and then reading of your battle for your life God has brought me to a place where I know I need him. I hope some day soon I will have a relationship with him like the two of you do.

I wish that I knew how to pray, because I would pray for you. I do think of you all the time though and know that God brought me to your blog for a reason.

My question for you is how did you go from living a life before you knew God so well to a life like you have now?

Thank you for your inspiration.

Lindsey, we may work in the same building every day, but I come to your blog to read your words of inspiration and faith because they are so amazing and such an expression of truth. Your message about cancer is so powerful to others, and your witness as a child of God is so honest and straightforward. I see you as a dedicated professional taking care of children at times when you really need to be taking care of yourself. Those teaching skills have come in handy, for it has been you who has taught so many so much about God's place in our lives and how to live our lives for Him.

Those summer days are coming. Enjoy each and every one of them!
