Memorial Day

Mom, that picture was for you. It is the epitome of summertime, isn't it?

We just got home from a wonderful (but sweltering) evening at my parents' house. We usually enjoy a Memorial Day cookout in their beautiful backyard, and this year was no different.

Look at those teeth! She had the best time in the swimming pool. Initially, she had on the cutest little swimsuit, but she seemed much happier au naturale!
Maddox the Magnificent. Guess what? He's a boy now. I realized that tonight. He's no longer a baby boy, but a regular old kid. Well, a magnificent kid, but a kid, nonetheless. Where did the time go?
Granny B. takes it all in...
Hensley Grace just about wore Nana out in the swimming pool. She was constantly ready for more fun!
Mom (Nana) takes a breather.

Aren't they sweet? I'm so jealous of Ashley's blue eyes.
Granny and Papaw dine on the yummy food.
Us. This is not the most flattering picture. My face is SO broken out. It's frustrating, but really, if that's my biggest complaint, then I'm doing pretty well. "Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised."

Aunt Bev tears up the horseshoe match.

My mom has a gardening gift. She has the ability to take very little and make into something exquisite. Anyway, I was just jonesin' for her yard all night. It's definitely a masterpiece.
Happy Memorial Day and happy week! For me, this is it. 4 more work days, and then my summer begins! The promise of freedom is almost more than I can handle!
