An Update

Good evening, my sweet readers,

I just wanted to give you a quick update before I turn off the lights and mosey up the stairs to crawl into bed. I talked to my oncologist tonight. We haven't actually seen each other in person since the day before my biopsy, but we talk on the phone regularly. I like that about her. When she calls, it's usually around 8pm, or so. Her personal time.

Basically, the new cancer is much more receptive to hormones than the original tumor last year (from 11% ER+ last year to 48% ER+ now, for you medical sorts). Because of this link to hormones, I will be having a hysterectomy as soon as I am fully recovered from my surgery last week. I promise I'm not one of those crazy people who has surgery for fun. Up until 15 months ago, I had never had any sort of surgery or stayed in the hospital for any reason. I am quite healthy, mostly. At this point, I still have a drain tube from last week's surgery (sorry if that was too much information). Please pray that this tube will stop draining soon, so that I can go back in for another surgery soon.

I have an appointment with a radiation oncologist on 1/26. At that time, we'll get radiation up and going.

So, things are moving right along.

Keep those prayers coming! Y'all, we feel covered. We feel strong and healthy. We feel deeply blessed and incredibly hopeful in the Lord.

Will you pray this with us?
Pray that the Lord would give us and show us His absolute perfection. His very best. And, pray that when He does that we would exalt Him and praise Him and boldly share of His power and might. Pray for only correct decisions (both our own and the doctors'). Pray for complete healing and divine health for me.

You are to be commended for your intercessions. I'm telling you, we feel them. They sustain us.

Good night, my friends.

Trust Him
When darkest thoughts assail thee.
Trust Him
When thy faith is small.
Trust Him
When to simply
Trust Him
Is the hardest thing of all.

The Will of God will never take you where the Grace of God will not protect you.

You CAN do this. And you will.

In prayer,

Dearest Lindsey - I found you through Whitney's blog. You sound like a true fighter - keep that spirit going. When you put your head on your pillow at night, please know a Grandma in Central Illinois will be tending to the sound of your prayers. I will also be praying the prayer that never fails...."Thy will be done"

Lindsey and Brian, as newlyweds, I'm sure that this is not the news that you wanted to hear, although, I know that you had come to terms with it already. Everyone thinks that the traditional family is for the wife to birth the children. I can tell you that without a doubt, we think that we have the sweetest princess that God sent us from Russia. She looks and acts just like our family.
Also, our family has committed that if we don't pray for anyone else, we will keep you two in the forefront of our thoughts which always leads to prayers. We are warriors for you through Christ.

Praise God for sustaining you.
I have to say since reading through your story after the first diagnosis, I always feel for you and am curious if it is stressful dealing with missing work? I am a fellow teacher and I often think about this when I think of you. Is that something I could help pray for or is everything pretty well taken care of in that area? Just curious.

Hi Lindsey,

I just found your blog - and I want to encourage you to believe that God is still in the miracle business. After 5 years of having an undiagnosed - and then diagnosed, but not treatable heart / autonomic disorder the Lord healed me. Jesus still heals. I promise, He does. I believe that he is going to heal you. You do not have to give up on your dreams to have children. or your dreams of forever with your husband. He can and will rescue you. Stay faithful. Stay hopeful. Stay loving. Lots of blessings and prayers. april
