Home Makeover

On Wednesday, Brian and I decided to begin the makeover process for our living room and kitchen. One thing led to another, and before we knew it, we were elbow deep in paint and stain. We took Thursday off in honor of Thanksging, but all day Friday and Saturday were spent painting and staining practically everything that would stand still. I'm happy to say that we LOVE the finished product, and this entire makeover cost less than $100. In fact, one and a half cans of stain is all that it took to do all of the woodwork that you see in the pictures. So, here is a look at the before and after photos:

Living Room Built-ins BEFORE:

Staircase BEFORE (and, you can't tell, but that wall is actually purple. GROSS!):

Kitchen BEFORE:

Laundry Room BEFORE (don't you just love those peach walls?):

Laundry room AFTER:

Living Room BEFORE:

Living Room AFTER: And, this is the entryway now. I don't have a before picture, but it was the same peach shade as the laundry room. Again, it was nasty.

So, there you have it, the start of our home makeover. Pretty much every space needs an overhaul, so we'll be tackling the house room by room until we're finished. It was fun, though. Now, I can't wait to start another area.
