A Few of My Favorite Things. . .

Today was a good one. In fact, it was a great one. I woke up when Brian's alarm went off, and not a second before. After a few morning duties were complete, my sister, Chelsey, and I headed to Dallas for a day of fun. I love going shopping on weekdays around the holidays. It's almost magical. People seem to have a bit more joy, and the stores' displays are so festive.

We started at Garden Ridge - a crafter's haven. I had to make a return, but I also picked up a few items to add to my Christmas tree.

Then, we ate lunch at Blue Mesa. It was my second time to eat there, and it's not my favorite. I just can't seem to love it, like so many do.

Next, we headed to World Market. I was looking for an area rug, but I didn't find one. However, this is my favorite place to by coffee, so I did pick up a package.

Our next stop was North Park Mall. Can I just say that I love Williams-Sonoma at this time of year? I always love it, but their special seasonal items just seem to make my heart beat a bit faster. Oh, and their hot chocolate . . . it is incredibly delicious! The whole store just feels so holiday-ey.

I was able to get a few Christmas gifts at Urban Outfitters and XXI, and we also tore apart the formal dress departments at Neimans and Nordstorm. Alas, we did not find the winning number, though. Chelsey has a winter formal coming up around Christmas.

We took a quick break with some Italian gelato from Paciugo. And, if you've never had this stuff, you really must. It's life-changing.

It was the perfect beginning to my holiday week. I am so excited to continue the festivus tomorrow.
