Be Still My Heart

You know, I've never been much of a soft drink drinker. Now, I do love Dr. Pepper and I get the occasional craving for a Coke float, but I don't make it a habit to indulge in these bubbly beverages. I just haven't ever been able to justify the calories. And, I HATE artificial sweeteners, even Splenda. I don't care who you are, it still doesn't taste like sugar.
But then, just by accident, one day I indulged in a Coke Zero during a marathon training day for work. It was the only thing available to get me through the afternoon of the class. I slowly unscrewed the top, braced myself for the artificial taste, and I was in shock as my taste buds did a dance when the refreshing liquid filled my mouth. This stuff is GOOD!
So now, I'm sad to say that you'll find an ample supply of these treats lining the shelves of my refrigerator. Yum! I think I'll have one now!

I hate artificial sweeteners too. And I'd much rather a real soda, but Coke Zero really isn't too bad! I've also noticed that diet Dr. Pepper isn't bad either as far as diet sodas go (and I don't even really care much for regular Dr. Pepper).

A friend told me the diet root beers are decent. I haven't tried them yet.

When Uncle Mike and I first got married I would have two or three Dr. Pepper's a day. The first one was while I was putting on my makeup in the morning. We don't do fake sweetners either, toxic! I don't know what it was, it's the only time in my life I have HAD to have a soda. (Must have been newlywed jitters or something) Now I drink iced tea, strong, no sugar. Is their any symbolism here? I wonder.

I'm not a fan of artificial sweeteners in the least and I adore regular coca cola! You're right thought for Coke Zero being a diet soda - it doesn't seem like it. You may want to give Diet Dr. Pepper a try. I love the REAL stuff but the diet is an ok medium - especially the cheery diet doctor pepper!

I found your blog in passing and I'm glad I did.
