One rainy Thursday afternoon, a girl named Lindsey slowly drove into the garage of her comfortable home. When the garage door slowly went up, she saw that Brian's black truck was backed carefully into one of the parking spaces. As she methodically turned the ignition to the off position, she glanced to the right and noticed a note taped to the door that went into the kitchen from the garage.
"Hmmm," she wondered, "Brian didn't mention that he was coming home early. I wonder what this is all about?"
Her eyes meticulously read every word of the note. It was a letter from Brian. He had creatively penned the sweetest rhyming poem that she had ever read. The last line read, "So please come inside and you will see, Something that shows you how much you mean to me."
As she slowly turned the doorknob, the wonderfully clean smell of the house wafted in her direction. "You cleaned!" she shouted with joy.
Lindsey loooked around and saw glistening floors and a clean house! "What a treat!" she thought.
Brian quickly informed her that the clean house was not the something that the note was referencing. About that time, he quickly pushed a paper gift sack into her hands. "Open it," he ordered.
Carefully, Lindsey peered into the sack and saw a leash.
"Bertie's leash?" she asked.
"It's not for Bertie. Go into the living room," Brian ordered.
Quickly, Lindsey made her way into the living room and saw none other than the cutest little Saint Bernard puppy curled up in the corner with a bright red bandana around his neck.
