I just don't see it.

A few weeks ago, Brian and I were taking our daily walk through the neighborhood when one passerby commented loudly about our doggie brood, "Those are some galutes!"

A few days later, another person stopped us to comment on the sheer size of our pups. Finally, I asked Brian, "Are they big? I just don't see it."

Brian was flabbergasted that I didn't consider a dog who was well over 130 lbs to be a large dog. Sure, she's bigger than chihuahuas and yorkies, but please, I just don't find her to be that obtrusive.

Maybe it's because she was an itty bitty 7lb puppy when we first adopted her, or maybe its because she just lays around all of the time, so she doesn't seem to take up much space in the house. Whatever the reason, to me, she is our little baby, and I will continue to treat her as such :)

You just don't notice since you are around them all of the time..kind of like when grandparents visit and say "my, the kids have gotten so big" but the parents never noticed. ha! ;)

Sweet Lindsey. I know you love them and it doesn't matter how big they are or what other people think. It sounds like that precious little 7lb. now 130lb. puppy has been a great comfort to you this past year. And what an adorable picture of Brian! He loves them too and that's all that matters. Love is blind. Hugs.

I love it that you have a ton of big dogs. I would love to have some myself! :)

(Thanks for the sweet comment on my blog earlier. Such encouragement. Thank you.)

Here's something for comparison: I've lived on a dairy farm all my life and don't think of cows as all that big--but ask anybody else and they're huge! It's all in conditioning, I guess.

Big or not, that's a cute dog! :D

Aww, you just see them as your little babies. And love them for who they are, not how big they are! So sweet. On another note, my parents have a 7 month old Great Pyrenees. He will not stop growing for another 8 months. I just can't even imagine how massive he is going to get! When he puts his paws on my shoulders we already look eye to eye --and I'm 5'9"! Ahhhh!!!! :)

I know exactly what you mean. We have a 20 month old male mastiff. He is a little bit bigger than Gladys. People are always making comments about how big he is. They are afraid of him because he is "so big". I just don't see it either. I don't think of him as being large. He sits on my lap every night. He is just a sweet baby dog to me. I enjoying seeing pictures of Gladys. I tell Harley that I have found a girlfriend for him on the Internet. Don't worry about what other people think about your baby. They don't know that they are missing out on the best dogs ever.
