Who's that hiding in that Snuggie?

The worst has happened. Just when you thought that my husband couldn't possibly add another item to his "as seen on TV" museum, he pulls out another stop. Brian's birthday is this Saturday, and his sister and brother-in-law gave him his gift early - a Snuggie. Can you believe it? Brian has been intrigued by the fleece wonders for months now, and he even tried to fashion his own out of a robe, but it was not quite a success. At last, he has his very own, complete with a free book light.

P.S. - Do you have any creative birthday ideas, either for gifts or celebrations? I've got a few up my sleeves, but I'd love to hear the best things that you've done for your husbands on their birthdays.

I love my Snuggie! I got it for Christmas before I even knew what one was...

Now if we could just get rid of that stinkin' commercial...

I have seen those on TV - my mom would love it! HAHA that is so funny he got one!

Hmm ideas for you... I don't really have anything great because hubby and I usually DO something special as opposed to buying something for each other...

Well this year for Chris' birthday we had just recently moved back to his home town so it made this idea possible. I made him a journal of pieces of his life before we met. I had him take me all the houses he lived in growing up, all the places that have really happy memories, places of sad/bad memories, place of his first kiss, to OSU for memories from college, and other memorable places. Most importantly where he asked Jesus to be his Savior. And then in the back of the journal I've used it to write him love letters because I don't tell him enough how much I appreciate him. He really loved it and it keeps on giving because he doesn't get to read the next memory page until we've done the one before. It's cheap it means a lot and it has taught me more about the man I love. That's my idea.

My daughter wants one of those! Her birthday is soon and I just don't know. She's turning 8 and I'm sure it will swallow her!

For my husband's 30th birthday, I surprised him with a plane ticket to see his brother in Vegas and I arranged for his other brother to be out there too...they had a good boy's weekend and I was pretty proud!

Ahaha! I love when they're at the football game in the commercial, so silly! Sorry...I can't help but laugh; my fiance's dad and I bonded over our opinion of that commercial. Hopefully your husband stays warm in his (but maybe he should only wear it at home)!

I read somewhere that those have a crazy cult following now, especially with college students. I guess people started buying them as gag gifts, and the folks actually liked them. LOL

Back in the 70s when I was a kid, we had something similar, except it went all the way around you and zipped up in the front. It was called a Snug Sack.

I think he looks a little maniacal in the second picture. It sure looks like a backwards robe to me.

This is SO funny!! I want a snuggie so badly! My husband teases me every time it comes on TV about how perfect it would be for me. hehe.

Birthday surprise... well for my husband's b-day last year I got him a couple of things he had been wanting (ipod, wii games, clothes, cologne) but wrapped them all as separate as possible so it looked like Christmas morning. :) I set them all up against a table on our back porch complete with his favorite meal and candles. So it was "all about him" that night. Also in each gift I threw in 2-3 love coupons (bought the little coupon book @ Hallmark) to add some sparks to the evening.
