Decisions. Decisions.

Meet Chelsey. Chelsey is my smart, sassy, and stylish younger sister. She is 10 years younger than me, so she is still in high school and still involved in high school "things". One of the "things" she has coming up is the annual Christmas Gala at her school. Ah, the gala, I remember the days of dates, dresses, and fancy dinners. I went to the same wonderful private high school that Chelsey attends, only 10 long years ago. Anyway, back to my story. Chelsey came over this morning and we spent the entire day together. It was a blast! Most of our time together was spent shopping for a gala dress. This is such an important part of a high school girl's life. You have to have the perfect ensemble - not too fussy, but not overdone either. It's a fine art to achieve just the right look. We found a few contenders, and the search is not yet complete.
I really liked this little number. I thought that it fit her well, and it offered just the right amount of flirt.
The drawback . . . It comes with a hefty price tag at a boutique. (Don't mind me taking pictures in the background.)

This picture doesn't do justice to this dress. It was a pretty metallic. It kinda looks trash baggy in this picture, but it was very cute on. We're thinking it may be a bit short, though.

And here we are taking a lunch break from shopping at Olive Garden.

So, can you help us out? Which dress do you like better and why? She may not end up with either of these, but we would still like to know which feature you like/dislike about them. Thanks!!!

I'm with everyone else-the blue one. As the mom of a daughter I also think the other one may be a bit short. I have an 11 and 5 year old sister and I am looking forward to having these kind of days with them also.

I love the blue one! It's simple but flirty. And it is a great color on your sister.

I like the blue one, too! It's very flattering, and I feel like, style-wise, it will be wearable longer. I think the second dress will be out of style within a year or two, where as the blue one is a little more timeless (but still stylish), so she can wear it for years.

I would say the blue. My eyes were just drawn to it. And it looks like it fits her perfectly. Very cute!:)

I love both of them, but I think the blue is my favorite too. It fits her perfectly! The metallic is really pretty too though...

I L-O-V-E the metallic one, but I do think it is too short. And I think she would be uncomfortable all night trying to pull her dress down. But it's SO cute on her. She has such a great little figure!

The blue one is beautiful, too. She'll look stunning no matter which one she goes with!

I love the blue one because it seems like a classic party dress. And I love the color. But I love the other one too! It is very fun. I think she should go with the second choice, because she can wear the blue one when she is older, but she can't pull off the
2nd dress once she gets older. It screams I am young and fun! Let us know which one she chooses!

I have to agree with the other mother, the second one is too short for my taste. I am thinking about all those boys that will be there. The blue one looks festive.

Definitely blue! Love it!

Hands down, the blue one! Although the second one is very 80's chic! :)

I do love the blue one! The metallic one is really cute though and that is soo in right now but like the others have said, it is a bit short and within a year or so, it will be out of style again and will have to wait another 10 years to come back. Don't you love how styles do that. I mean sequins are making a come back?? Really?? I remember wearing those in HS over 12 years ago! :)

I'm a big fan of the blue one. The cute was really flattering on her and like you said, it had the right amount of flirt! Bummer its expensive.

I love the Blue one!

It makes her hair look great and her complexion too. I know you said it's a bit pricey, could she use it for a New Years Eve party too? Maybe an upcoming wedding? I love the neckline, like you said flirty but not to much.

take care,
Lisa
